With Essen later this week I wanted to do a quick post to preview one of the games that we’ll be reviewing over the coming weeks… Panamax!!!
I recently got a copy of the German edition of Panamax which was one of the hottest titles seen at GenCon 2014. There’s really no real difference between the English and German editions of Panamax other than the publishers and the language the rules are written in, so I’m more than happy with the German version!
The copy that I have has been published by Heidelberger Spieleverlag and features rules for French, German, Portuguese and Spanish gamers. The English edition is being published by Stephen Buonocore of Stronghold Games and will be available from the GamesQuest store shortly after Essen.
What’s the biggest ship on the canal??? The Panamax!!!
Luke Hector will be grabbing a copy of the English edition of Panamax and providing you guys with a full-size review. However, I was playing the game the other day, had my camera to hand, and thought I’d throw a quick video together to show you the components and how the game flows! I’m looking forward to finding out whether Luke likes the game or not, because Nikki and I really enjoyed this one!
There’s the odd area of play that I didn’t really go into in the video, such as grouping ships during movement and the warehouse taxes. But they’re things I’m sure Luke will cover in his full review!
So, without further ado, check out the following video and I hope you enjoy the brief preview and component run-through!
