Update: Star Wars Imperial Assault: Twin Shadows

Today we have an extremely brief update for you!

Last week we reported on Fantasy Flight Games announcement for some new additions to their Star Wars: Imperial Assault game. Of particular interest was the first of the boxed expansions – Twin Shadows available for pre-order now!

As the shadows grow on Tatooine, two new heroes from the Rebel Alliance prepare for battle against new threats like Heavy Stormtroopers and Tusken Raiders. With new Command cards, Agenda cards, Condition cards, Class cards, and Supply cards, your games of Imperial Assault change forever with Twin Shadows. In addition, twelve new double-sided map tiles draw you deeper into the Star Wars™ universe. You may find yourself on the bridge of an Imperial Star Destroyer or engaged in a firefight in a Mos Eisley cantina.

Do We Know Anything New??? Yes We Do!!!

Yesterday morning I received an e-mail from Nigel to let me know that there had been a memo with some important information about the release of this exciting expansion.

Star Wars Twin Shadows Board Game Expansion

First off, Nigel informs me that the expected release date for Twin Shadows will be June 2015, far sooner than I’d expected! With GenCon running from July 30th to August 2nd 2015 I thought we’d be seeing the release coincide with that. Of course, this earlier release date leaves me to speculate that, assuming a similar model to Descent 2nd Edition – by the time GenCon hits we’ll be seeing FFG announcing a new big box expansion for Imperial Assault!

The other news, as you may already have noticed, is that Nigel now has the expansion up for pre-order on the GameQuest store so check it out and get your pre-orders in now, this is going to be very popular!
