UK & ROW Fulfilment Update - 28th June

UK & ROW Fulfilment Update - 28th June

Greetings one and all, and welcome to the new GamesQuest.co.uk website!

Thank you for finding us for another instalment of the UK & ROW Fulfilment Update. We know that these updates are so important to you backers (yes we see you sharing the blog on Kickstarter, thank you so much keep up the good work!).

We want to assure you, they will be exactly the same but with the addition of a comments section (be nice) for questions regarding the projects we’re fulfilling. These questions will be answered in a video going live in a separate blog post on Wednesday, which will also be shared on our social media channels.

Speaking of which, keep an eye on our social channels for updates.

We'll also be featuring game reviews, Kickstarter previews, interviews and a ton more so please support us and our awesome writers by checking out the blog when you can.

With all that said, let’s get to it…but first...

————————————————————————

Hey there Etherfields backers

We see and hear you. We are well aware that this project hasn't gone as smoothly as it could or as the majority of our fulfilments.

As always, we like to be as transparent as we can be, so here it is; yep, this one just didn't go well and we're sorry for that.

On the 26th of April, we put out a statement on our blogs to give you guys a heads up about some delays that would be hitting scheduled projects within a 6 week period. Unfortunately, and to everyone's regret, Etherfields has been one of those.

We would usually try to put out % based updates on bigger/longer projects such as Nemesis Lockdown. So, for the sake of some excuse making, we were unable to do that this time around for a few reasons being that we were busy trying to get ahead of the delays, plus UKGE and launching our new website.

We have been in contact with Awaken Realms and explained the situation and apologised for the time it has taken. We very much hope to continue working with them, they are fantastic people and create brilliant games we as gamers have also backed and are big fans off.

To the present, we are just about over the 90% mark for pre-packed orders and expect to have them fully dispatched late this week/early next.

I appreciated the heads-up that the bow-wave of work (including what you couldn’t say at the time – the new website/webstore) was likely to cause problems.

I have no issue with the short delay, given that crowdfunding is such a long term commitment. On top of that I wonder how Canadian backers view the UK complaints, when UK will fully complete before Canadian fulfilment starts.

Backing crowdfunding does require a fair degree of patience for the unexpected issues and delays, with such delays occurring in retail, but that we never see details on.

What I find myself becoming intolerant of, is the responses to issues from backers of the larger campaigns. Crowdfunding backers have a reputation for ‘whining’ that to a large part is undeserved. There are lots of very supportive or simply quietly patient backers and they don’t deserve such a reputation. However the bigger the campaign, the more I am embarrassed about the way in which some represent their disappointment.

The comments on this page are far from the worst – some elsewhere are truly obnoxious. However it’s the drip, drip, drip of exaggerated complaining that I am ashamed of as a fellow backer and that I feel moved to apologise to GQ/SQ & AR about. So in return for your apology, I will offer my own, that we as backers sometimes take a legitimate disappointment / complaint to a level of rudeness that is not justified. You do not deserve that.

Disappointed that some others aren’t playing to the ‘be nice’ request for commenting. Etherfields was always going to be a big beast. I’m sure lessons can be learned and trust they will be learned. Looking forward to receiving mine, not personally in a rush, and look forward to receiving more AR games from you in future.

If this kind of delay is not enough to loose future business with AR I wonder what is…
It’s odd you didn’t choose to spread out the delay amongst all of your projects and Etherfields has been delayed to this ridiculous extent…
I hope they go with a different fulfilment partner next time as your are not treating their backers with the respect they are…
Good luck , and stay away from projects you can’t handle

First of all, well done for admitting that the Etherfields order hasn’t gone well. It’s not always easy to do that and to do it openly and publicly. Secondly, Dark Spoon is right – what would get us back onside is information about what’s left to be done. We know there were 2,440 orders and you are 90% through pre-packs so the obvious question is what % of the 2,440 are pre-packs and does the remaining pick and pack generally take much longer per item?

We’ve had an information vacuum for 4 weeks so there’s been no expectation management. Good to see you are starting to correct that – I hope that by answering some of the above points it’ll give Lucy, Dark Spoon, myself and many others a realistic idea for when we are likely to get our games.

So what happened to Ulaya Chronicles? It had disappeared from here entirely and I haven’t had my package or even a tracking number?
